A new definition of "working class"

Don Surber has the story of a family, who made use of SCHIP for their children, and subsequently had their son speak for the Democrats. The newspapers didn't do any investigating, but bloggers did. The family lives in a 3,000 square foot house in a nice neighborhood, owns their own business, and sends their children to private school.

Apparently, this family will pay for private school, but not private health insurance.

This family exemplifies the very real Republican fear with expanding these types of programs. As I understand it, the recently vetoed plan would allow a family currently paying for their children's health insurance to immediately drop it and have the government pay. Meanwhile, some people who need the coverage more than this family will remain uncovered.

Hopefully, the veto will spur compromise. You know, bipartisan does not mean "doing what Democrats demand."
